Indigenous Australian Engineering Summer School (IAESS)
Engineering Aid Australia
Engineering Aid Australia, founded by the late Jeff Dobell, is a philanthropic organisation which funds the Indigenous Australian Engineering Summer Schools (IAESS,) dedicated to raising the aspirations of Indigenous high school students, encouraging them to remain at school and consider engineering as a profession. The first Summer School was held at the University of Sydney in 1998 and has been held in January every year since, at either the University of Sydney, the University of NSW or Newcastle University. Now also held at Curtin University, students come from all over Australia to take part and are exposed to engineering through hands-on activities at university, direct contact with professional engineers and site visits
